Trump, 80, Spirals in Unhinged Multi-Post Truth Social Meltdown

(Daily Beast) Donald Trump has threatened legal action over a “treasonous” newspaper article that claimed his brutal war with Iran achieved very little change. Trump, 80, lashed out at The New York Times on Sunday in three separate social media posts, calling the publication “corrupt and unethical cowards” and “criminals.” The president also claimed he would update his “multi Billion Dollar lawsuit” against the Times, by adding new details of their “false and ridiculous reporting” over his war.

US and Iran to seek 'final deal' within 60 days under newly agreed roadmap

(ABC News) The United States and Iran agreed on Sunday to negotiate toward a war-ending deal within a 60-day timeframe, according to Pakistan and Qatar, which are mediating the ongoing talks in Switzerland. The delegations agreed on Sunday to create a "High Level" committee to "provide political oversight" for the talks, and that new committee in turn agreed to a 60-day roadmap, the mediators said in a joint statement early on Monday.

Trump faces fresh bipartisan criticism on Iran deal as Vance hails peace talks

(The Guardian) US political figures from left and right voiced fresh objections on Sunday to Donald Trump’s provisional deal with Iran – even as the US president made new threats while Vice-President JD Vance hailed progress during the first round of direct peace talks in Switzerland. Negotiations in Lucerne between the US and Iran have already run into difficulties, after Trump wrote on Truth Social that “Iran must immediately stop their highly paid PROXIES in Lebanon from causing trouble. “If they don’t, we’ll hit Iran very hard again, just like we did last week, only harder!!!”

Graham: $300 Billion Payoff To Iranians Okay If Arabs Do It

(Crooks & Liars) Lindsey Graham twisted himself in knots defending his flip flop on Trump's MOU with Iran and, of course was all-in with Trump's latest threat to have the military seize control of the Strait of Hormuz if the deal falls apart. Graham was asked about his evolving position now that Trump signed the so-called "agreement" and his excuse was basically, it's perfectly fine to give money to the Iranian regime as long as it's the Arabs doing it.

UK PM Starmer resigns as Britain faces its seventh leader in 10 years

(CNBC) U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced Monday that he will stand down as Labour leader and prime minster, ending months of political turmoil and opening a contest to replace him. The announcement follows mounting pressure on the prime minister after Labour suffered heavy losses in local elections in May and faced an increasingly vocal rebellion from his own lawmakers over his leadership and policy agenda. The move comes less than two years after Starmer led Labour to one of its largest parliamentary majorities in the 2024 general election.

Jeanine Pirro Says People Who 'Vandalize' Reflecting Pool Will Be Prosecuted

(Huff Post) People caught vandalizing the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool on Washington’s National Mall will be fully prosecuted, U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro said on Sunday. President Donald Trump has blamed vandalism for recent problems with the newly renovated pool, including its new blue paint peeling off. Citations for vandalism have been issued, Pirro said on Sunday, adding that even minor crimes must be prosecuted to keep the U.S. capital safe.

"A Huge Grab of Power": Trump Is Defying Congress on Foreign Aid

(ProPublica) Congress said no. Lawmakers, who hold the government’s purse strings and have oversight of federal agencies, wanted USAID to remain, even in its diminished form. They detailed precisely how much the State Department should spend on foreign aid and for what, including $9.4 billion on global health to treat and prevent maladies like HIV, tuberculosis and malaria, and more than $5 billion on emergency humanitarian aid. They also insisted on regular, detailed reports about how the administration was spending the money. But the administration has taken a variety of steps to thwart Congress’ directives.

Dem Lawmaker Calls for Elon Musk to Be Probed Over 4.5 Million Kids 'Possibly Sentenced to Death' by DOGE Cuts

(Mediaite) Rep. Ro Khanna (D-CA) called for Elon Musk to be investigated as soon as Democrats retake control of Congress, with the liberal lawmaker claiming Musk “possibly sentenced to death” 4.5 million kids via DOGE cuts. Khanna slammed the Tesla and SpaceX boss during an appearance on the I’ve Had It podcast on Saturday. “He needs to answer for that,” Khanna said. “He needs to be subpoenaed, he needs to face investigation, he needs to answer for what he did with DOGE. It’s not just ‘let’s move on.'”

With his Iran 'deal,' Trump scraps his own red lines on missiles, money and uranium

(MS NOW) The principal problem for Trump is that we know exactly what he “set out to accomplish,” because he laid out his objectives in plain terms when launching the war on Feb. 28. Indeed, the president told the world that he had five objectives, starting with a specific goal: “We’re going to destroy their missiles and raze their missile industry to the ground. It will be totally, again, obliterated.” Roughly 109 days later, Trump took the opposite position, arguing that “it’s a little bit unfair” for Iran not to have ballistic missiles because other countries in the region, including U.S.-allied Qatar and Saudi Arabia, are believed to have stockpiles of the weaponry.
