I implore everyone to watch this powerful video.

I know some people hate the videos, and I’ve seen one person specifically trash Meidas Touch videos because of their admittedly awful cover photos. But this is absolutely the most heart wrenching video I’ve seen. Truth-telling at its best: “We are the terrorists.” She calls out the commanders of the ships en route to Iran BY NAME to turn around before they contribute to the war crimes Trump is inflicting on the people of Iran. Very powerful, haunting statement.

I think when we get back in power

we need to move very quickly, while the wounds this regime inflicted are still fresh. Healthcare, yes, but also expand the SCOTUS and launch treason investigations into Trump and all his sycophants. Then give the death penalty to the m-fers convicted. I’m not in favor of the death penalty in most cases, but in treason this egregious, it’s the only thing that will discourage this level of corruption from the right. They only understand violent consequences.

Israel is a modern nation-state as well as an

ethnic-religious based country. The OP is obviously referring to the government. If they were “blaming the Jews,” they would have written “Trump is working with the Jews” instead of referring to Israel and continuing on to call out Netanyahu. imho

I feel like the majority of DUers on this thread must lead very insular lives.

I (62 yo white woman) have been called Mama, Mami, and Mommy by strangers since my hair started going grey in my 30s. It's akin to terms like "honey," "babe," and "sweetie" that have fallen out of favor. I've heard it mostly from Latinos (here in Massachusetts and also in Colorado and Mississippi), and younger black folk, and I feel like it arose through Latino culture (and maybe Afro-Latino culture) from the Spanish mami (mommy), as in this Urban Dictionary definition from 2006:

Mami
{{IS A SPANISH WORD}}Mainly used by Dominicans, Puerto Ricans,Cubans & Other. These are the countries that originally used this as more of a slang term.Can be used with kids,Partner{female}.Similar 2 Hun,Boo,Girl,Baby .{males Refer to females:Mami}{females refer to males : Papi}

Now this word is being used by non-spanish speaking people
{spanglish}, Can be used by anyone{short form is Ma}
{males Refer to females:Mami}{females refer to males : Papi}
{Mami example 1}
Guy:How u doin mami?___how u doin honey
Girl:Im good

{Example 2 Different Context Meaning beautiful women.}
Guy:Woah Que Mami.

{Example 3. Use with children}
Mother:Mami how was school today?
Daughter: It was Good.

Personally, as long as no one is calling me a b*tch, c*nt, wh*re, etc., I'm cool. No harm is meant.

I highly recommend you read Jill Lenore's most recent book,

We the People: A History of the Constitution. We will never get the ERA and other human rights until those rights are enshrined in amendment form. There were frequent Constitutional conventions up until the early-mid 20th Century, most often conducted by groups outside the actual government. An easy example is the women’s suffrage movement. Did women hang around doing nothing until the all-male legislators decided one day, at the height of the Roaring Twenties, to beneficently bestow women the right to vote? Of course not. But the women kept showing up and strategizing their message in various conventions, using the Constitution to underscore their rights, until they brought enough public sentiment to favor their cause. Lepore gives many other examples.

As for war, I can pretty much guarantee there will be one unless we get a true Blue Wave the next two election cycles, and only then if the Dems in power have the will to make drastic changes and hold everyone in this regime accountable for their various crimes. I’m not confident Democratic leadership fully understands this; Biden and Garland sure didn’t. Should they try for some kind of appeasement “for the sake of national unity,” they’ll only be delaying the inevitable. This is a Dred Scott moment in history that could turn either way.

Honestly, this illustrates why Boomers need to retire from

national political leadership. Why the fuck are they even responding to this? Sic a lawsuit on this DOJ for harassment and defamation and tell them to fuck off. HRC’s 8 hour testimony did nothing to move any needle towards her favorability rating. Meanwhile, Republicans have effectively said FU to all Democratic Congressional subpoenas. Democrats need to stop playing with Republicans at all. This is a compromise for “civility” with people who would literally like to see the Clintons publicly executed, mixed with ego in that the liberal Boomers want to be seen as the “grownups in the room.” (This is the left’s version of “Daddy’s home”. 🤮 ) We need to stop and wake up to the fact that the old ways of acting in good faith with Republicans are gone - at least for the foreseeable future.

Glad to hear someone else noticed he switched hands

with his phone. It was one of the first things that jumped out at me when I watched it the first time. But this is the first time I’ve heard anyone else mention it. I suspect he did it to move his right hand to his holster while Becca was filming him to intimidate her. I don’t really want to watch Renee’s execution again, but it would shed a lot of light on his body language and expressions. I hope they have been able to get the footage to Ellison’s office as part of their investigation.

Edited to add: I posted the above paragraph before watching the video. So interesting that this guy arrived at the conclusion by comparing two different videos at two different times, and I knew it instinctively by watching Ross’s video. What a vile human, a coward, who fled his own crime scene. “Law enforcement” my ass. He’s a state sanctioned murderer.

"It's time to put Clintonism on a raft and set it on fire."

Yes indeedy. I have said this for years, that Bill Clinton helped set the stage for redistributing wealth from the people to the oligarchs, and also opened the door to invading Iraq by starting bombing campaigns on Iraq.

I am a Boomer who absolutely feels that Boomers in the DNC sold out the American people by chasing wealth at the expense of economic and social stability. Glad some are waking up, but far too many have taken that neoliberal to the opposite end of the political spectrum and become MAGA, who want wealth for themselves and nothing for anyone who is the "underserving poor" (aka, Black people, immigrants, GLBTQ+, etc.). Nearly 60% of men over 50 voted for Trump this time around. That's a lot of mostly Boomers.

Please do not call Native American spiritual leaders "shamans."

Shamans use "magic" and are under the influence of some mind-altering substance when they work. Native Americans don't believe that their spiritual practices involve magic (certainly not more so than transubstantiation in the Catholic Church), and not all (or even most) use mind-altering substances to spiritually lead people, or only use them in specific circumstances and rituals. They prefer to be called by their native language title, which varies across cultures.

If you hear or read something generic about indigenous tribes, customs, and culture (or "wisdom" ), it is most likely bullshit made up by white people. Case in point: the supposed Native American folktale about two wolves fighting has been attributed to "Eskimos", Cherokees, or just "Native American Grandfatther, however, it's a Christian parable that was popularized by Billy Graham in his book The Holy Spirit: Activating God's Power in Your Life (1978). The big tell about it's Christian basis (as opposed to any legit Native American belief) is that the wolves are often described as white and black, with white being good and black being bad. That is a western flex; no native American tribe believed that before colonization.

You may be thinking of the supposed Native American quote, "When the last tree has been cut down, the last fish caught, the last river poisoned, only then will we realize that one cannot eat money." It has been traced back to comments made by an Abenaki man from Canada as quoted in a 1972 book, “Who is the Chairman of This Meeting?” However, I've also found it attributed to Cherokee and Osage tribes. Where ever it came from, it in no way dates back to the 1700s.

Edited to correct my Anglophone slip up, as noted in response below.

"...the highly respected Board..."

Of Trump appointed syccophants?

Board members like:
- Pam Bondi
- Maria Bartiromo
- Elaine Chao
- Lee Greenwood
- Laura Ingraham
- Allison Lutnick
- Dan Scavino
- President Donald J. Trump
- Usha Vance
- Susie Wiles
and many more degenerates who wouldn't know artistic value if it kicked them in the butt.

..."highly respected..." Oh, yeah, that's absolutely the first thing I think of when I hear the names Laura Ingraham and Lee Greenwood. The only cultural connoisseur missing is Ted Nugent!
