JMCKUSICK
JMCKUSICK's JournalGood morning my DU family,
I know this has been mentioned in some of the comments that have been left for Debm55 regarding her upcoming biopsy for the mass in her breast.
Finding and keeping a positive mindset is literally the most important thing I can do for myself when it comes to medical issues, other than following prescribed treatments etc...
I know it worked for me in my during my various surgeries, including the quadruple bypass as well as helping beyond measure during my SSDI process.
I wouldn't have survived either situation without your constant words of support, healing and love.
Staying positive along with finding joy and yes, laughter, really does have profound positive effects health wise and is proven to be helpful for most illnesses and diseases.
Please give us a day filled with opportunities to offer supportive and positive reinforcement to our ailing friends and neighbors, in the simplest terms, please help us be part of the solution.
Have a joyful day DU, and you in particular Debbie,
Love, John
Good morning my DU family,
Debm55 put up a post last night that communicated the difficulty many of us without "Family" face during health scares and worse in our lives.
https://www.democraticunderground.com/10182314979#post22
I added the link because it gives us another opportunity to reach out and offer the kind of support and love that all of us deserve during those moments when we couldn't feel more alone.
Please give us a day filled with opportunities to take the time to be aware of the really difficult moments in the lives of those near us, and to offer what they need most in response, an empathetic ear and acknowledging their new realities in a way that's reassuring and loving.
Have a deeply impactful day DU,
Love, John
Two things:
How low must Hockey rate to not have its own category in culture categories, like football, baseball and basketball?
Can we get that fixed please?
And two, the most Important part,
GO WILD!
Must win tonight.
Good morning my DU family,
Sometimes things don't happen at the pace I think they ought to lol.
I know I know, me and every other poor person on earth right? My main point is that it's so easy to get out ahead of our skiis in our heads, while the rest of the world is taking their time, and I therefore, bringing unnecessary angst and frustration to my day.
For those of us waiting on medical test results, court decisions, new elections lol, I'm just reminded to stay busy, and trust that this too shall pass, and to let go of those things we have no control over.
Please give us a day filled with opportunities to exercise the powers we have with care, and to be at peace when we're powerless.
Have a great day DU! Sorry I'm late this morning.
Love, John
Good morning my DU family,
Beauty is defined by Miriam Webster as
"the quality or group of qualities in a person or thing that gives pleasure to the senses or the mind"
There is such beauty here at DU, in such variety that every day here becomes a teacher, a friend, a reporter, a therapist, a confessional, and a tour guide.
The beauty that flows from your descriptive words, your emotional experience, your incredible heart, your understanding empathy.
Your visible bonds with those whose hands you'll never hold, whose faces you may never see, whose laugh you'll never hear, and yet, you share our tears, our grief, our loss.
You celebrate our achievements, you encourage our every effort, and you experience the results as if they were your own.
DU Readers, you are Beauty's living representatives, her choreographer, her conductor. You are her messenger, her deliverers.
Please give us a day filled with opportunities to be the beauty that another eye can behold.
Have a beautiful day DU,
Love, John
Missing Itsjustme and their wonderful posts,
Hasn't been on in a long time.

I hope you're doing well Itsjustme.
Good morning my DU family,
For those of us whose primary companion is pain, it's only too easy to find a reason not to do stuff. Some days it's literally hard to get out of bed, and yet we must.
We must, because to do otherwise is a form of resignation that can reinforce the depression that usually occurs when dealing with pain day in and day out.
Please know that I for one, am really grateful that you all choose to post, choose to share, and choose to act. Often it is your example that encourages and inspires mine.
Whether it's CaliforniaPeggy trekking to a farmers market, or Figarosmom and Catbyte finding and posting those adorable animal videos, Or Debm55 with her jokes or questions of the day, it just dawned on me that their decisions to act bring so much joy to me and others.
Thanks for the reminder that without you, life would be way harder, especially psychologically.
Please give us a day filled with opportunities to serve others, to remember that our greatest moments are always a result of either giving or receiving the gifts of others
I hope you have a day filled with presence DU.
Love, John
Good morning my DU family,
Happy Mother's Day to all you Moms and moms of.fur babies.
Back when I was a taxi dispatcher, I used to brag that I had a mother's sense of hearing, in that I could always detect the slightest stress in my call takers voices, and of course,
I'd tell them to send the call to me so that I'd handle whatever the problem might be.
It's taken me a long time to realize, but a mother's hearing is nothing more than caring about what's going on around us, and being willing to get involved.
Thanks to all of you that have not only a mother's hearing, but a mother's heart, soul and brain too.
Please give us a day filled with opportunities to listen with care, to act with concern, and to exemplify all the qualities that make Moms so great.
Have a sweet smelling day DU, like a fresh Rose.
Love, John
Good morning my DU family,
On a weekend that's dedicated to thanking our mothers, along with other mothers we've come to admire, let us take some time to really consider how awesome they really were, and are.
Think about doing a job where you're required to live at work, with maybe three or four days off a year, a job with no set hours, no description, no paycheck, no fringe benefits, no retirement, and if you're really really good at it, your spouse will thank you some nights by.....wanting to add eighteen years to your workload lol.
My post this morning is part awe and part snark, especially towards the system that dedicates one day a year to celebrate one of the most important jobs on the planet.
So let's start early, and go late.
Please give us a day filled with opportunities to both feel and share our gratitude for so many of the things that we might so easily otherwise take for granted.
Have a glorious day with each other this weekend DU.
Love, John
Good morning my DU family,
I am really excited to be entering a phase in life that promises to be much more stable and reliable when it comes to my environment.
Finances will be predictable once my SSDI payments begin and the opportunity to do various things as a volunteer for church etc...will also present themselves and as long as I don't over promise, or overdo the physical exertions, life will be more complete and satisfying.
In preparation for those quick approaching days and opportunities, I want to offer three things to those around me with more frequency;
A friendly ear, hopeful conversations, and of course a helping hand in any way I can.
My first call has been to the lady at E.A.R.S.
(Effingham Animal Rescue Sanctuary) that helped get those kitties that I found spayed, or neutered along with their shots
Please give us a day filled with opportunities to hear our callings and to act on them however possible.
Have an exciting day filled with promise DU, along with the opportunities to act.
Love, John
