aren’t going to be ready until 2028 or 29, there is no way that this bashed together conversion of the Qatari jet is going to be ready any quicker. If they try to rush it they will just create problems that have to be solved later. Plus, the equipment is highly specialised and requires long lead times; it can’t be bought off-the-shelf. Finally, who is going to work on this conversion? The number of workers with the right skills AND the necessary clearances to work on a presidential jet is very limited. I doubt they could get people without pulling them off the VC-25B aircraft.
