in republican politics and because it seems to work, they haven't tried a new playbook. Learning to actually govern would be a fresh change on their part, but I'm not holding my breath.

Democrats usually run for office to serve their country and make a difference. Republicans run to serve themselves and their big donors, and they will do anything to accomplish their objectives.
