Because I’d like to think we also value free speech, even for the loathsome. I also don’t know how much he cared for trans people, because killing Kirk did nothing to make their lives any easier. It was blind rage, and a product of a toxic upbringing steeped in guns and violent video games. At that point, reality and his online life conflated. What’s the difference in killing someone in a hyper realistic game and real life? Just the tool used.

I think most of us here absolutely despise just about everything Kirk said. I’ve said it before a million times, I’m not grieving him and am sick of the media and this administration basically forcing us to grieve for him, but killing a highly visible messenger (of good or bad) rarely ever stops their movement, it just creates a martyr and strengthens the right’s resolve to double down on their agenda.
