My solace is that while he is surrounded by yes-people and sycophants, they want to keep on living, and will quietly ignore sector drop nukes or something equally disastrous.

Data point: the Army Corps of Engineers didn’t completely obey his order to completely open up that reservoir valve as ordered. That would have caused massive flooding downriver, destroying homes and killing people.
