23. I wondered if it's a bird with an outstretched wing

Not obviously a bald eagle - I can't see any white for the head - which is what you might expect in front of a US flag.

Looks like people have found it - it is a bald eagle, with its head dipped:

'Land of the Free' above the picture, 'Home of the Brave' below it. Eagle's head is just below the bottom right corner of the 'stars' section of the flag.
