In reply to the discussion: Israel Confiscated Baby Formula From Doctors On Arrival in Gaza [View all]lapucelle
(20,642 posts)61. Why aren't the public statements of the chairman of a terrorist political bureau "compelling"?
What makes you think that Hamas leaders had "no effective weapons"? Not only did Haniyeh threaten Israel; he also threatened Saudi Arabia and Egypt.
"All the agreements of normalisation that you (Arab states) signed with (Israel) will not end this conflict," Haniyeh declared on Qatar-based Al Jazeera television shortly after Hamas fighters launched their assault on Israel on Oct. 7, killing 1,200 people and taking more than 200 people hostage.
========================================
Ismail Haniyeh was a fat, pink, and polished multi-millionaire terrorist leader who lived a life of luxury in Qatar. He was the guy selected to be prime minister in 2006 when the last elections were held and Hamas took over Gaza. He was also the public face and spokesman for Hamas, post October 3. He was having a visit with the Ayatollah in a palace in Iran when he was killed.

Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh leads group's diplomacy as Gaza war rages
Nov 23 (Reuters) - Ismail Haniyeh, the Hamas leader based in Qatar, has been the tough-talking face of the Palestinian group's international diplomacy as war has raged back in Gaza where his family home was destroyed in an Israeli air strike in November.
Appointed to the militant group's top job in 2017, he has moved between Turkey and Qatar's capital Doha, escaping the travel restrictions of the blockaded Gaza Strip and enabling him to act as a negotiator in the latest ceasefire deal or talk to Hamas' main ally Iran.

Had been limiting my shared sentiments here on DU regarding Israel/Palestine. All of it sickens my soul.

Those are simply reports about various claims, not evidence that any of the claims are true.

So many reports contradict the gov't statements on GAZA that their trustworthiness is highly suspect.

The Allenby Bridge is a land crossing. All travel from there to Gaza would be overland.

So you reject the claim that the IDF uses children for target practice as ridiculous.

I feel sorry for you, eventually you'll have a rude awakening. Or not, I'm not sure which would be worse.

Yes, well, there you have it. Now back to the matter at hand: which part is "patently false propaganda"?

Israelis ARE responsible because their government is responsible. Some are stepping up to protest, which is great.
