Or rather, that's been the variant that's been dominant since late last summer but has seen rapid rises in Asia and Europe in the last few weeks.

There's also better immune response. I'm pretty sure I had this in April - experienced it as a head (nose) cold with lingering lung effects, like the first time I had Omicron. I'm a runner and two weeks out I had trouble doing 1.5 miles! (My usual runs are 4 to 8 miles). I did not test, though, so it could have been anything.
