In reply to the discussion: Democratic Sen. Chris Murphy says 'no doubt' Biden suffered cognitive decline while in office [View all]Nanjeanne
(6,349 posts)to pieces that are printed to make Dems knee jerk. Murphy speaks very highly of Biden and his accomplishments and his own experience working closely with Biden on gun legislation. He also points out that the audio clip re Bidens response re Beaus death is not a fair clip as this is an emotional moment in ones life. There is no bashing of Biden in this interview. There is a retrospection on should Dems have listened to constituents that wanted a younger nominee and how in retrospect of course it makes sense for Biden to have not run because Dems suffered a loss to a madman - which is valid retrospection on a party's loss. He posits that had they had an open primary Kamala would probably have done very well.
Surely it makes sense looking back to have had more time to develop a strong running platform and a full campaign. Where is the bashing in reviewing what didnt happen and answering that question with we should have given ourselves a better chance of winning? He doesnt engage in any discussion of the book. I found nothing disrespectful in Murphys honest responses.
