If it is important to you to retain the vehicle at the end of the lease, make sure the contract allows it. If you have a right to buy the car at the end of the lease, he can't violate it unilaterally - without at least compensating you for damages. And, if this is a planned mass breach of contracts, a court would likely impose more damages for willful breach.
