Donald Trump's US Attorney for the District of Columbia, Jeanine Pirro continues to engage in prosecutorial overreach and abuse, as evidenced by recent comments made by DC federal district court Magistrate Judge Zia Faruqui. Before becoming a judge, Faruqui served as a federal prosecutor in Washington, DC, and he knows whereof he speaks.

The Washington Post just published a piece titled, "D.C. judge excoriates policing surge, demands answers from Pirro." That article related the following:

"Faruqui said federal judges would continue to push back on 'implausible, illegal, immoral ' prosecutions."

"Faruqui said the Trump administration's zeal to reduce crime in the nation's capital had touched off a 'constitutional crisis' (and) officials were 'playing cops and robbers' on the streets of D.C. while 'the rule of law is being flushed down the toilet.'"

Faruqui "was 'beyond outraged that the court was being used and abused' to trample defendants' rights."
