To say you will reduce drug prices by 1,000 percent is a logical and mathematical error — it’s a misuse of the concept of percentages.
Here’s why:
• A 100% reduction in price means the price drops to zero.
• A 1,000% reduction would imply the price drops to less than zero — in other words, the drug company would be paying you to take the drug. That’s not how pricing works in reality.
