6. The older I get, the more grateful I am for my parents/grandmothers. I was the first born, both sides

I never had grandfathers, both of the died long before I was born which was tough on both of my parents, but they were also American heroes, fought in WWI. My paternal grandfather was the eldest son of Irish immigrants and he signed up with his brother to fight. My grandfather brought ammo to the front on horseback and my great-uncle fought at the front and was awarded the Silver Star. As for my maternal grandfather, he and my grandmother were both immigrants from Poland. My grandfather arrived as a young man, they made him a citizen to fight for his new country. So much for attacks on immigrants...
