And according to Liz Cheney's book, many of her fellow House members were also veterans who served, like Adam Kinzinger who was the only other Republican who served on the January 6th Committee. But he's also out of office.

And the same is true of the Senate, otherwise none of these "loyalist" unqualified nominees would have received approval.
