MacArthur didn't sign a deal with the Japanese. He dictated terms of their surrender.

Allies didn't sign a deal with Nazi generals. They dictated terms of their surrender.

I made a deal with some guy whose kids I kidnapped and he gave me $1M to get them back. No, I really didn't in case some can't recognize sarcasm.
