4. I have a new appreciation for my 9th grade history teacher, he taught us details about the Civil Rights Movement

When I saw the name Viola Liuzzo here on DU, I knew exactly who she was. 10th grade was a year of World History and 11th grade was a year of American history. I can't imagine a complete education without learning about our country's past, both the good and the tragic.
