5. I agree there's plenty to talk about re impeachment,

even at this early stage. However, the hope that republicans won't kill the whole process is just that...hope. They're not going to turn against trump and their own millionaire donors in order to save the country. Repubs have been salivating to have a chance to implement the kind of country they always wanted. This is the first real chance they've had, and they're going to push it hard, no matter what. Add to that the disincentive to do the honorable thing due to death threats and other threats from trump, who knows who his cabinet, and the maga voters themselves. Only if the promise was made that all job firings and other issues directly impacting the maga cult would be rescinded IF he was impeached and convicted could there be a chance in hell prior to 2026.
