How do you know if you have Type II?

I'm 51, put on about 40 lbs in the last 4 years. I lost my mom and sister within 2 months in 2010. I became depressed and over ate and drank (who wouldn't). I'm also in menopause, had my last period over a year ago. I take Cymbalta for my depression and fibromyalgia. I've read that this med can cause weight gain too. It just bugs me that doctors, therapists, everyday people wonder if I have diabetes or they worry I will get it just because I've gained weight. Do I have to look like a runway model to be considered healthy? Jesus! My blood work is always ok. Blood sugar is normal. I walk a brisk hour a day easily, not a big eater. I've always been a low energy, sensitive introverted person, but I think the menopause is what's doing it...

I guess I'll know when I get my latest bloodwork back. Had fasting tests done - - blood sugar, thyroid, cholesterol
