A friend told me.
I have been watching Promising Young Woman..that’s an excellent feminist movie. Movies convey stuff the spoken word cannot.

I watched it soon after I lost my mother and in the middle of a ramping up of misogyny. Prior to 2011 I was fortunate enough to largely be in civilized spaces. But after that I fell into ones where women really have no say and everyone passively enables or protects misogyny. It’s not most people. But it’s like the Marbury Lens or They Live.

You can see it’s overlay in a normal world men and women exist in obliviously and only when people put on the lens can one separate out the determined sexists, the confused who are pretty sexist by default and the rare genuine support outside of your own small support group and so far it is absent.

Anyway, I work best solo in difficult situations so I can handle it..I get confused in crowds for all that I am all for solidarity under normal circumstances separately. I can rarely agree on serious things with groups. Usually I find most positions a bit unevolved or inaccurate in their specifics whatever the intentions.

It has been disgusting. So I really loved it the movie. It reminded me of my last workplace so much. And of the last 5 years. I plan to file complaints about the whole thing which I expect will be discounted as crazy as per usual. Shrug..oh well. Heavy topic for a movie forum, but it’s a movie I really feel. The complete contempt for a woman’s career or education.

The movie didn’t even cover the darkest side of the warped version of contemporary concern for mental health - its warping to represent women as unstable, prone to self harm etc however untrue. It’s just an excuse to monitor women so we don’t file complaints or have no credibility if we do. But it’s represented as concern. Harvey Weinstein more honestly just enlisted BlackCube, a creepy data mining company to stalk his victims. And even worse is this whole content creation industry and other parasitic junk.

Anyway my former employer and similar local harassers or misogynistic systems are in for a nasty shock as I am not incapable of handling these jerks..it was just a KO punch followed by many more. That didn’t age well…
