This idea of a proportional response is so absurd to me. I mean, what would that look like? Counting the dead Israelis and making sure that the same number of Gazans were killed? Same for beheaded, tortured, raped, kidnapped? A direct one-to-one counting? Some people seem to think that is proportional.

Let us not forget that it was not Israel that started this war. They never have, by the way. Let us not forget that those who started it promised to repeat is over and over, until all Israelis were killed. Perhaps a lot of "innocent" lives and the lives of children could have been saved in Germany and Japan had the allied forces just been proportional and were forced into "peace agreements" that let the Nazis continue to rule? I wouldn't be here if so, and all the rest of the living would be wearing swastikas on their arms.
