I had thought of a kind of joke that would work for what I knew was a typical opening to the service. Many preachers start by saying, “Good news. He has risen; he has risen indeed.”
I went inside just before the start and sat midway back by the center aisle. When the preacher stepped to the podium and said, “Good news.” I stood up and he then said, “He has risen.” As he said, “he has risen indeed,” I was walking down the aisle to the rear door. I went outside and immediately left the property. I thought I heard some of the teenagers in the back row laugh as I left the building.
Also, I immediately left town.
