6. I was in Tulsa for a family occasion.

Got back to Oklahoma City yesterday and I feel so much better here than in Tulsa. it was depressing over there. Hubby said when he lived there it was so boring and conservative he had to leave. And I have never lived in this state. So I was confirming his perceptions about the vibes over there.

his first wife died, the mother of his children, and the funeral was Monday in Sand Springs. He finally got sick of the all-Jeebus-all-the-time talk and the general stupidity and the meddlesome inlaws and left her after 15 years. I don't know how he stood it.
He got a good job in Houston and she refused to leave her parents, so he didn't have any choice. He felt really bad about leaving the kids but they tell him he's making up for it now that they are grown.

The immediate family (kids and wives) are all atheists or agnostics so at the gravesite I read some Buddhist things I collected. The xtians all had furrowed brows and not one of them spoke to me after the service. Too bad.
The immediate family was really pleased that I read things that they could relate to.

Oklahoma City has become my home away from home.
