Wanted to let you know that my brother's additional testing showed nothing else that he needed to be concerned with. He knows the adrenal gland issue needs watching. He knows he has emphysema and needs to quit smoking so he'll have as good a quality life as he can for the years he has left (hopefully that's a good many - he's only 7years older than me). That being said, he's going to have a difficult time. He's smoked mulitiple packs a day since he was 13yo. When I was a kid, I used to empty the tobacco out of his and my parents cigarettes, then repack them in their cartons. I didn't like my family smoking. I also used to throw out their lighters whenever I had a chance.
As for myself, I'm back at work today. I'm a web developer so I figured that if I could type responses on FB and DU, I'd dose up with 1 percocet and try work. Yeah, I'd rather be home resting, but I was afraid my boss would start giving away my projects. That's happened before, so I'm going to try to engage enough that I can keep that from happening. My husband works in the same building with me and made sure my chair, computer keyboard were rearranged how I needed them this morning. I might be slower, but so far so good. The med is making be a bit fuzzy brained, but I'm using spell check
Maybe I'll bring an icy gel pack back to work with me after lunch. My arm is hot in the sling and it's driving me crazy. I think feeling hot is caused by the pain meds.
I get reevaluated and another set of x-rays in 2 wks to see if the broken parts are staying where they're supposed to. If they do, I shouldn't need a pin. If they aren't in place, I'll need a pin or two.
