7. My father was born in the family house, in Canada, in 1928.

The house had a hand pump in the kitchen, but there was still an outhouse.

Growing up in the 1950's, that same house, my grandfather's house, did have an in door washroom but the outhouse was still functional.
And it was still heated by two stoves. One in the kitchen and one in the living room, with open grates providing heat for the upstairs.
