2. This snippet conflates aloneness and loneliness

They may often correlate but not always. Some prefer being alone and don't suffer from loneliness. And having children or a spouse doesn't always guarantee the kind of positive human interactions that obviate loneliness. A lot of children have little to do with their older parents.
