ins and outs). Understand, I've been in IT for over 40 years, and one of the biggest gripes I had to tell my fellow workers, product teams, etc., that they needed to 'dumb' down their presentations, their written materials etc., anything having to do w/ IT, as a topic (especially back in the early 1980s/1990s), since so many didn't understand it.
To give credit now, it's a lot better, people do, for the most part, do understand a heck of a lot more of the IT environment, etc. Unfortunately, you still get some that won't even try to learn even a tiny bit. And I think that this desire to not learn hurts them. If you are somewhat more intelligent or more versed in a topic, you can talk/weave your way a little bit better w/ others.
Nice of you to really help your friend. Doordash may have eliminated the size option too, so you don't really know who's at fault, Doordash or Panera. If it were me, I'd simply say 'oh well, I won't bother w/ ordering this particular item and pick something else'. Someone is doing you a favor, thus, bend a little bit backwards in accepting some choices.
