1. The right wing radio stations move in

They move into moderate and even liberal areas under the aid of media conglomerates which are owned by a small group of conservative leaning owners.
who cares if nobody listens - and if they don't not to fret, they'll pass it over to an easy listening music conglomerate - what about the FCC where do they stand,

There are 5 FCC Commissioners
they are nominated by the President who
can nominate, but not fire a commissioner


And then of course, there's money and influence



It's crazy, the right has always been much craftier about controlling media, especially propaganda.
