On Monday, a federal judge ruled that Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall acted unconstitutionally when he threatened to prosecute those who help Alabamians get abortions in states where they are legal.

(4) It is DECLARED that the defendant's use of the
provisions of Alabama's criminal code to prosecute
those who assist individuals seeking to leave Alabama
to obtain abortion care in a State where abortion is
legal would violate both the First Amendment and the
right to travel.
The court
retains jurisdiction
to issue
an
injunction to enforce the declaratory judgment and to
provide other relief, should such become necessary.
