2. This brings back memories. That was a huge story, maybe

bigger in the SF Bay Area. Moraga is adjacent to the town where I spent most of my early years.

I still have so many questions about how that couple ended up raising fight dogs in a SF apartment complex--what their motives were. I mean, I understand how A leads to B and B to C, but there had to be a deeper reason (and I am aware of the bestiality angle). Although I suppose they didn't make much money as lawyers, I don't think a lot of money was involved or could have been a prime motivator.

There was just something about this story that was horrifying, in part because most people love dogs and it's so hard to imagine owners could be that indifferent and cavalier about something so dangerous, and just also on the level of it being hard to imagine that dogs could do so much damage to a person. It's out of most peoples' sphere of experience.
