Just a reminder to anyone trying this: There's a reason the OP said a few drops of Dawn. Drops. Not squirts.

Dishwasher soap is designed to not make bubbles. Dawn is designed to make bubbles. If you use too much, you can break your dishwasher and flood your kitchen.
