3. Meatball grinders

Meatballs made of ground beef and pork with eggs, bread crumbs, salt, pepper and fennel. They'll be pan fried halfway to sear the outsides then put into the homemade tomato sauce to finish cooking and to flavor the sauce.

They'll be served in hero rolls with sauce and mozzarella cheese melted on top under the broiler. We're going to make a Caesar salad with Romaine lettuce, dressing, anchovies and garlic croutons. Chianti and ice water.

Our neighbor, who is as ice-bound as we are, is bringing dessert by trudging through the woods! I expect she'll spend the night rather than making me walk her home in the dark.
