1. I have to rest on my laurels ...

and I'm a left-coaster, so a Brooklyn run is not in my portfolio, but I have done some racing in my time.

I stumbled across your post (Any takers?) while browsing through Exercise and Fitness, so here it is my take:

In my best running years (80's - 90's) I ran the King Games Half Marathon (Palo Alto, California) in 1:21 flat, 6:11 minutes/mile.

I have only raced 3 Half-Marathons, but 100 or so full Marathons. My two best were the San Francisco Marathons in 1983 and 1981 with respective finish times of 2:40:39 and 2:40:48 (6:08 per mile). I have 16 Marathon finishes at 6:30 per mile or less.

I also have run nine races of 100 miles or more: 5 times at the Western States Endurance Run, 1 at Bighorn Trail, and 3 at the Pac-Rim 24 hour run (119.5 miles, 117 miles, and 112 miles). Also a small number of 100Ks, a bunch of 50 milers and double marathons, 50Ks. ...etc.

My career-to-date racing kilometerage/mileage is 10,444.86 kilometers/6490.13 miles at respective paces of 5.46 minutes/kilometer or
9.17 minutes/miles.

I hope your running enthusiasm takes you to many adventures. Have fun!
