8. My girlfriend and I watched our first on-screen closed-caption movie (Superman) at the theater a week ago.

Both of us use hearing aids. We found the captions unobtrusive and helpful. We use closed-captioning at home except for sporting events and sometimes the news, both of which seem to come through more clearly than movies and other TV shows. Even my two sons, 38 and 40, who are not hearing-impaired (yet) tell me they like closed captions because they make following the dialogue less stressful.
