 I've seen other places explore how the false flag is set up to end the democratic Republic and bring to power the Imperial dictatorship.  But I never knew that in his early notes, Lucas envisioned the Empire as being America ten years from now.  Of course, as bad as Reagan was, the current crop of candidates makes him look practically middle-of-the-road.
