SAN FRANCISCO (WTF SF) — San Franciscans may soon be able to jog their way around town, if a Bangaldeshi-based mobility company has its way.

Earlier this month, start-up company Cangorun announced plans to deploy hundreds of running shoes in select cities to directly compete with electric scooters as a transportation option.

Cangorun officials said they plan to first launch their personal foot-protectors in the Swedish cities of Malmo and Stockholm sometime this summer.

After that, they would deploy the socks in both London and San Francisco.

On Friday, Cangorun CEO and co-founder Adnan Mortaza said his company chose San Francisco as one of its launch cities because of its reputation as place of gullibility.

He added that Cangorun could start deploying anywhere between 100 and 200,000 pairs of trainers in San Francisco as early as late summer or possibly in the fall "because we already make them for the city like everywhere else, but this time we're doubling the price and marketing them ourselves as a "transportation option".
