2. I have had similar font problems with 10.5

I have found going back to the original font from original disk generally works. Apparently they get corrupted somehow when moving from one system or one computer to another. I've also gotten copies from a friend and that seems to work. I've done the same for her on occasion. So, you might try that.

Also, Adobe Illustrator is a factor. Fonts work in InDesign, but won't in Illustrator. The same technique as above generally works.

Not a guaranteed solution for you, but worth a try.
