Upgrading an old HP. It originally ran XP-MCE. State of the art Video for its day. But now videos are red. And there are XP video adjustments, codecs, HP monitor software, and OS video controls. There are even video adjustments inside video software such as VLC.
Hoping it all works as well as my laptop's Linux Mint, which has no such problems.

Well, to update. My wreck of a daily driver laptop, a real beater if there ever was one (and I do have a newer laptop but why not get the mileage from the old when you can), is alive and well. I upgraded Linux Mint to the latest, 21.2 (21.3 to be released before 1/1/24), and ditched Chromium backup browser except for Zoom sessions, because Firefox locks on Zoom for some reason. Now I use Vivaldi for secondary browser and it gives me time to learn it. I think keeping some sites logged into Chromium while using FF was the main obstacle, even though Chromium was not even launched! Ad-Blocker conflicts? I dunno. This PC is sailing these days. It was a long download. over 2 GB of upgrades.
