Kudos to Michigan for rising from the GOP ash heap. That ballot initiative to create an independent redistricting commission has gone a long, long way to help Michiganders escape from the fetid clutches of the GOP. Living in Texas, we as citizens cannot get an initiative on the ballot for anything: redistricting, weed, abortion, nothing, it's just not allowed. Only the state legislature can propose ballot initiatives, and the neanderthal GOP in Texas won't have it.
