Well, we did not live next door, but Bodie Island was not too far down the beach.

Just remember... very few people have ever lain in the sand, in the dark, staring up at the night sky while the waves crash and just reach your toes. (And you remembered to apply mosquito repellent or they would carry you off... LOL.)
