I have served in local governments in Wisconsin on and off for the last 40 years. I've seen first hand the effect of the state budget on local government and, as Sen. Vinehout pointed out so beautifully, watched people actually suffer the consequences of the actions on Capitol Hill.

The connectedness of all of us to the decisions about who we send to Madison to represent us to how our everyday life is affected is not as plain as it should be
