Christie readies to remain in N.J., 'no reason to believe' Trump job offer imminent [View all]

ATLANTIC CITY — Gov. Chris Christie on Thursday calmly fired back at the political opponents and members of the press who have spent more than a week "prognosticating" about his future.

They should all calm down, he suggested.

Speaking for the first time to a large public audience since President-elect Donald Trump scored an Election Day victory, Christie reassured New Jerseyans he has every intention of finishing his second term in office.

"I am so thrilled to see all of my friends in the press here," Christie said at the annual New Jersey League of Municipalities conference in Atlantic City.
