Okoboji School Board votes to put $69 million bond on November ballot [View all]
MILFORD, Iowa (KUOO) - Voters in the Okoboji Community School District will vote on a $69 million bond issue in November.
Superintendent Todd Abrahamson says they needed 971 petition signatures and ended up with 1,175. Now the issue can be included on the Nov. 5 ballot.
Abrahamson says voters can learn about the bond through community meetings in the coming months. Details on those dates and times will be released when available.
Our board has spent well over a year, a year and-a-half, working through this process. This just wasnt something that we just did at a snap. I appreciate the boards work on this over the last year and-a-half as we prepare now to go to the voters in November. Well share all those details on how we landed on the $69 million, the cost. Our tax rates going to stay the same at $9.25 so the tax rates not going to increase and we can explain how that is, said Abrahamson.
