3. In a few years people will forget

California has had cycles of very wet years and very dry years as long as there have been written records - and probably long before then. We just had a string of several exceptionally dry years, when a lot of people seemed to forget that it does rain here in the winter. Come the next drought cycle, many people will have forgotten about winter storms and will happily buy property on hillsides for the view.

I am getting tired of the rain, though. Especially when it comes with the windstorms. Eight large trees fell within 3 block of me in the past month due to high winds, one of them crushing a house. Sometimes I wish California weather would settle into a happy median instead of going to extremes.
