1. We loved "The Bear"...

... when it started, and the restaurant's growing pains were so authentic, and touched with some humor.
But when nearly every episode was shot with ultra-closeups... not so much. Sure, it saved time with rehearsals, blocking, and camera angles, but that particular fad was short-lived, and with good reason: It was tedious to watch.
Jeremy Allen White and the rest of the cast are excellent actors and deserve a better directorial showcase for their talents. Here's hoping this upcoming final season returns to what was tried, true, and effective: Seeing the actors moving through their working environment with grace and style while delivering the sharp dialog that has always been an essential part of "The Bear".
