1. Bakula's Captain Archer Character Needs Some Modifications

FYI:

Scott Bakula played Captain Jonathan Archer on Star Trek: Enterprise (2001–2005).

Within Star Trek canon, Archer is remembered as a pioneering captain — he commanded the very first Warp 5 starship (NX-01 Enterprise), led early exploration missions, and laid groundwork for the United Federation of Planets.

Fan reception, though, was mixed:

Some viewers found Archer inexperienced or indecisive compared to later captains like Kirk, Picard, or Sisko.

Others appreciated his portrayal of a more “human,” less polished captain at a time when Starfleet was just beginning to explore deep space.

The writing of Enterprise itself was often criticized for uneven story arcs and network meddling, which sometimes reflected on Archer’s character.
