2. For The Right Hand...

...there are ways to strum by working the whole lower arm from the elbow. No stress on the wrist.
And, there are ways to pick individual notes using only the fingers to move the pick. It's not as fast & versatile, but it works.
I've seen YouTube videos describing both. Here's a guy that has videos for people with physical limitations.

I do think it best to avoid fingerstyle though. Lots of great fingerstyle players have experienced bouts of tendinitis and that sounds like a bad thing for you
