Local Music Store Had An Event Today [View all]

Local meaning the bigger town 16 miles away.
They're an indie, family owned place in business for 30 years or more.
They had a special event where you could bring a guitar & 6 cans of food for donation to the county food pantry. For donating, you got a set of strings (choice of 3 brands for acoustic, 4 for electric) & someone would remove the old strings, oil the neck (if rosewood), and polish the guitar. Then, they'd put the new strings on. Limit 2 guitars.
So, I took 12 cans of food & took my Martin 6 & my Takamine. (No 12 strings allowed)
They had a BIG turnout. I got there at the start of the 2nd hour, and in the half hour I was there, more than a dozen people showed up. They were up to 25 people in the first hour & a half. So, at least 150 cans of food.
Cost me $27 for $18 bucks worth the strings, but I got the service & donated to the food bank. By 10:30, and it goes until 6.
Pretty cool idea.
