The final scene is reporting the arrest of the news anchor that has delivered the previous news stories about the corrupt government takeover taking place. It would be like watching Rachel and someone else comes on to report she had been arrested for treason.

I never forgot that movie. Damn sure never dreamed it could happen here.
(Edit: just looked it up. 1969. Turner Classic Movies channel.)
